TechCrunch also reports a limited prior poll test: creators can add a poll when commenting on their own videos, "a feature that had been previously available to some, but is now available globally." WERSM writes: "Comment Polls had previously been available to some users but are now available globally." TikTok's newsroom does not mention a prior limited rollout. If one of your accounts already had a poll icon previously, that matches TechCrunch and WERSM; it does not contradict the newsroom's "now available globally."

How Do Comment Polls Work — and Who Can Create Them?

Self-contained answer: only on your own video. TikTok's newsroom: "To create a Comment Poll, creators can add a poll when commenting on their own video. Just tap the poll icon in the comment box, choose up to 5 options for followers to vote on, and set a timeframe for how long voting will last. As votes come in, creators can track results directly in the comment section." Suggested uses on that page: picking an outfit, deciding what to cook, or voting on the next video idea.

That is a structured follower prompt sitting in the same thread the follower-first distribution model already treats as an engagement surface. What the page does say is that polls put a decision in followers' hands and show results in real time. Use them as a content-planning loop on accounts whose followers actually watch, not as a template you stamp onto every handle the same afternoon.

Voice comments have a moderation footnote that is not on the newsroom page. A TikTok spokesperson told TechCrunch that voice comments are subject to the same Community Guidelines as other content, and that the company uses "a combination of human and automated detection tools, including speech-to-text transcription, to identify and remove content that violates its policies." WERSM attributes the same Community Guidelines plus speech-to-text line to that TechCrunch interview. Do not hang that sentence on the newsroom URL — it is not there.

What Should Multi-Account Operators Change This Week?

Recap pages will tell you to "use the new features." That is not an operations plan. Three things actually change if you run more than one TikTok.

First, the product lives in the native comment box. TikTok's walkthrough is tap the icon, not fill a scheduler field.
